ETS Solutions:

Slab Storage Heating:

  • Using the concrete floor of a building as a radiant heat source has been recognized as one of the most comfortable forms of heating.
  • A slab storage heating system combines the comfort of the radiant heat with the cleanliness and consistency of electricity, converting electrical energy into heat and storing it in a reservoir of radiant warmth.
  • Electric Boilers (Hydronic systems), Electric mats or electric cables are installed into sand 8”-12” below the concrete slab, using the earth as a reservoir to store heat that will later radiate up into the structure and heat.
  • The slab storage systems are capable of heating industrial, commercial and residential structures.

Room Storage Heating:

  • Room storage heaters can be easily installed in remodeling projects. Heaters can be easily installed into existing homes or businesses.
  • A great choice as a back-up heating source for electric resistance heating when Fossil Fuel or Wood backup sources are not preferred!
  • A fan circulates heat from the bricks within the heater to heat the room.
  • Each room storage heater is individually controlled so you can adjust the temperature of each room.
  • No duct work is required

Central Space Heating:

Equipment like that available through manufactures like Steffes Corporation is a great all electric option for new installation and replacements of central furnace units and boilers. This offers an electric option with the backup heating source built right in the unit.

Options Available for Central Space Heating:

  • Fan Forced System: This furnace operates like a standard forced air furnace and can have an air conditioner or heat pump installed with it.
  • Combination of Hydronic System and Fan Forced System: This unit can heat water for in-floor heat like a boiler. It also can heat air like a forced air system, all with one unit.
Air Source Heat Pumps

If you’re looking to save money on heating and cooling costs, an air source heat pump is the answer. Heat pumps offer an environmentally friendly heating and cooling alternative – nearly all year long. Air source heat pumps are the best way to combine efficiency and off-peak rates to serve you and your family.

Air Source Heat Pump Quality Installation Rebate

To qualify for the Quality Installation Rebate, the heat pump must be installed by a registered HVAC contractor.

How it works

When used as an air conditioner, an air source heat pump cools your home by transferring heat from indoor air outside. In the heating mode, an air source heat pump can efficiently supply 50 – 70% of all your heating needs. Pairing your air source heat pump with a modulating electric heating source like a plenum heater or air source heat pump boiler qualifies for an additional rebate. This combination can combine efficiency and comfort for your home.

Requirements:

In exchange for low energy rates on your electric space and water heating, you allow REA the ability to interrupt your electric heating source at times when the price of electricity is high (up to 400 hours of control per year and will not exceed 12 hours per control event). During these control periods, your home’s backup system provides the heat you need.

  • Participation in REA’s Cycled Air Conditioning Program is required to qualify for the rate.
  • Qualifying loads must be hard wired (cord and plug connections are not eligible).
  • Installation of a meter, controller, and accessory equipment is required.

Quality Installation Rebate Program

Studies have shown that more than 75% of central air conditioners are operating below their rated performance. This causes wasted energy, decreases comfort and shortens the life of air conditioning equipment. These problems can be addressed when units are properly installed and maintained. That is why we offer the Quality Installation rebate. To qualify for the Quality Installation Rebate, the central air conditioner or heat pump must be installed by a registered HVAC contractor.

Geothermal Heat Pumps

Geothermal or ground source heat pumps let you take advantage of consistent temperatures below ground, all year round.

A geothermal heat pump functions just like other types of heat pumps, using a refrigeration cycle to move heat between the indoors and outdoors. Instead of moving heat to and from outdoor air, a geothermal heat pump uses the earth. Geothermal heat pumps can heat and cool your home or business and heat domestic water. These units will achieve at least 300% efficiency all winter long!

Air Conditioner Tune-up

Save money and energy with an air conditioner tune-up – Plus get a $25 rebate!

We all know that we can pay our auto mechanics a little now for routine service, or pay them a lot later for a major repair. The same idea holds true for your air conditioner or heat pump. Energy experts recommend that your air conditioner be checked at least every other year by a certified technician.

Without regular maintenance an air conditioner looses about 5% of its original efficiency for each year of operation. This means that the 12 SEER unit that you bought just a few years ago may be functioning like a 9 SEER unit today. The good news is that you can recover most of that lost efficiency through regular maintenance. Studies show that with regular tune-ups a unit will maintain up to 95% of its original efficiency. This means that the cost of an annual tune-up is recovered very quickly in savings on your monthly electric bill and reduced repair costs. A properly serviced air conditioner will also do a better job of dehumidifying your home.

Smart Thermostat

What is a smart thermostat?
A smart thermostat is a Wi-Fi enabled device that automatically adjusts heating and cooling temperature settings in your home for optimal performance.
Smart thermostats that earn the ENERGY STAR® label have been independently certified,
based on actual field data, to deliver energy savings.
While system designs may vary, common smart thermostat features include:

Convenience

  • Many smart thermostats learn your temperature preferences and establish a schedule
that automatically adjusts to energy-saving temperatures when you are asleep or
    away.
  • Geofencing allows your smart thermostat to know when you’re on the way home and
automatically adjusts your home’s temperature to your liking.

Control

  • Wi-Fi enabled thermostats allow you to control your home’s heating and cooling remotely through your smartphone.
  • ENERGY STAR certified smart thermostats quickly enter a low power standby mode when inactive.
