ARE YOU WITHOUT POWER?
REPORTING YOUR OUTAGE BY CALLING 800-473-1722

If you are without power, contact Runestone Electric Association. Don’t assume that someone else has called to report the problem. Every call helps us determine the location and extent of the outage. Calls are answered 24 hours a day, including holidays and weekends.

STAY AWAY FROM DOWNED POWER LINES (even if you are CERTAIN they are not energized). A previously safe line may become energized unexpectedly in the process of repairing damaged lines, so KEEP CLEAR.

10:00 PM, Wednesday, 6/10/2026:

Our crews have been working since the first outages were reported around 2:00 AM this morning. After a long day of storm restoration efforts, most crews have been pulled in for a few hours of much-needed rest so they can return safely and continue restoration work early tomorrow morning. A small crew will remain on duty overnight to respond to emergencies and address critical issues as they arise.

We estimate that 3,000 accounts remain without power. While significant progress has been made today, extensive storm damage, including downed trees, power lines, and broken poles, continues to make restoration a challenging and time-consuming process.

Tomorrow morning, our crews will be back at work in full force, joined by additional crews from neighboring utilities to help accelerate restoration efforts.

As a reminder, always assume a downed power line is energized and stay well away from it. The same goes for trees that have fallen onto power lines. Please do not attempt to remove, trim, or cut trees that are in contact with power lines. If you see a downed line, report it immediately and keep others away from the area.

If you are still without power and have not yet reported your outage, please give us a call. Never assume we are already aware of your specific outage.

We know many of you have been without power for a long time, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and encouragement throughout the day. The kindness shown to our entire team—from our line crews in the field to our office staff answering phones and messages—means more than you know. We are committed to restoring power as safely and quickly as possible, and we will continue to provide updates as restoration efforts progress.

We are aware that many members are still without power, and crews continue to make steady progress on repairs. However, widespread storm damage, including fallen trees, broken poles, and downed lines, has made restoration a slow and challenging process.

We estimate that more than 3,300 accounts are still experiencing outages.

We now have crews from our neighbors at ALP Utilities assisting with restoration efforts, and additional mutual aid crews from fellow cooperatives are on the way.

As for restoration efforts, our crews will continue working until dark tonight. Overnight, a smaller crew will remain on duty to respond to emergencies. If your power has not been restored by dark, restoration in your area will continue tomorrow.

A few important reminders:
– Always assume a downed power line is energized and stay far away from it.
– The same goes for trees that have fallen onto power lines. Do not attempt to remove, trim, or cut trees that are in contact with power lines.
– If you are still without power and have not yet reported your outage, please call us. Do not assume we are aware of every outage.

We understand that being without power is a major inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews work safely and as quickly as possible to restore service.

As crews continue assessing damage across REA’s service territory, it is clear this storm caused significant damage to our electrical system. We are seeing numerous downed power lines, broken poles, and extensive tree damage impacting power lines throughout the area.

As we’ve mentioned before, PLEASE use extreme caution today as you are out and about, especially if you are near low or downed power lines. Always assume these lines are energized and call REA to report the issue.

We estimate that more than 4,200 members remain without power at this time.

❗Outage Reminders ❗

📞Reporting Your Outage📞
Please call REA to report your outage—never assume we already know you are without power. Our phone system is handling hundreds of calls, and we apologize if you are unable to get through on your first attempt. If that happens, please wait a few minutes and try again.
We are monitoring email and Facebook messages as closely as possible, but calling remains the best and fastest way to report an outage.

⚠️Stay Away from Downed Power Lines⚠️
We cannot stress this enough: always assume a power line is energized and stay far away from it. The same goes for trees that have fallen onto power lines. Please stay clear of the area and do not attempt to remove, trim, or cut trees that are in contact with power lines.

🪚Storm Cleanup 🪚
During a storm of this magnitude, our focus is restoring power safely and as quickly as possible. Crews will remove only enough debris to make repairs and restore service. If we stopped to perform complete cleanup at every location, restoration efforts would take significantly longer for everyone affected.

👷‍♂️If You See Crews in Your Area👷‍♂️
During widespread outages, crews often need to patrol and inspect power lines before they can safely re-energize them. If you see a truck in your area and it leaves without your power being restored, please don’t panic. There is a process crews must follow to ensure power can be restored safely and reliably, and they are working as efficiently as possible.

⌚Restoration Timeline⌚
At this time, we do not have estimated restoration times available. Given the extent of the damage, we are preparing for the possibility that some members may remain without power beyond tomorrow afternoon.

There has been significant damage across our service territory, and our thoughts are with everyone affected. Our crews are working diligently to restore service safely, and crews from neighboring cooperatives are on their way to assist with restoration efforts.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and the many kind words of support. We truly appreciate it as we work through this storm together.
