Heating Your Home Runestone Electric Energy Wise© programs are designed to control your co-op's peak demand for electricity, which usually occurs during the afternoon and early evenings of the hottest and coldest days of the year. These peaks are the most important part of your co-op's wholesale power bill, which makes up about 57 percent of your monthly electric bill. Runestone offers special rates and rebates to those members who participate in our Energy Wise© programs, allowing certain specific electric loads to be turned off during these peak periods. Off-peak rates apply to water heating and space heating. Financing is available. We do expect our Dual Fuel rates to increase in the coming months due to the upward trend of wholesale power costs.
