Meter Readings
Most of the meters in our service territory are equipped with an automated reading device known as a "Turtle." When installed, a "Turtle" counts the revolutions of the meter disc. This information is then transmitted over the distribution line to the substation, where it is sent over a regular phone line to the REA office. Once the reading is received at the office, it is transferred directly to the billing computer.
